The Wax Currant is a deciduous shrub growing to 3 to 6 feet tall and 3-6 feet wide. The Wax Currant flowers in April to June and the fruit ripens in August. Commonly occurs on dry, open slopes, ridges and at elevations of 5,000 to 13,000 feet. Native to Western North America.
